Patriotism. Wow. Last night, I saw John McCain's new presidential bid ad. "My father was in war. So was my grandfather. I was in war. I love America." Or something like that. But in all honesty, it was a gripping look into the pain - the war - that has formed this nation and which lays hold on many family's hearts today. In many ways, it reminds us that to be American, we fight.

Immediately after McCain stopped talking on my TV, the new Mountain Dew Commercial came on, advertising their, "Vote for the new Dew flavor campaign." In the background, there's a wailing guitar with the gain turned wwwaayyyy up screaming out one of America's most prized and patriotic songs.

Apparently, to be American, you also must vote for the new Dew flavor.
