It's not unusual to be walking through Walmart and hear, "Hi Pastor Dave!" I got a letter a while ago addressed to, "Rev. David Bondeson." When I include my title on business letters or emails, I write, "David Bondeson. Pastor of Youth Ministries at Merrill Bible Church and Director of OTTS Garage." It's a bit of a transition to go from addressing 50 years old men as, "Mr. So-and-so," to now calling them by their first name and having them address me as, "Pastor Dave."
I do mental double-takes. I set my face toward ministry 8 years ago, and to finally be fulfilling that calling in my life is a testimony to God's incredible faithfulness. It's amazing!
What expectations do you place on your pastors? What do you expect of them? When was the last time you thought of them as slightly confused, a little in awe of where they are, and just simply a person?
