The eyes of Christ view the world differently than the world views itself. Values, priorities and expectations change when we learn to look through eyes given by the crucified, risen and returning Savior.

canada and creation.

Too much to write. Too much to praise God for! Too much to think of. (too many prepositions ending sentences...)

I got came home from a blessing of a week up in Canada: fishing, eating, sleeping and fellowshipping. It's amazing, isn't it? Right before I left, I heard Needtobreathe in concert, and they had a crescendo which ended in the lyrics, "He doesn't always give you what you want... He gives you what you need." Well, on a lot of levels, this past week was something that I wanted... but more than that, it was something I needed.

I spent five days doing nothing but fishing and enjoying the company of godly, amazing men. This might sound trite, but it felt as a bit of a transition from immature, college days to a much more 'grown up' time. I feel a lot older returning to Merrill. And I do feel much more driven to continue to serve God.

The nature! The creation! My God, He is good! To sit in the middle of a lake, with a sky as vast as can be imagined, with birds and fish and trees and clouds surrounding... it gives you an appreciation-a touch of insight-into the grandeur, perfection and beauty of God. And He is a beautiful God, isn't He? I think that might be one of the more oft forgotten characteristics of He whom we serve. He is truly lovely.

And I love creation. The way it does what it does. The way the rain falls and the birds turn their heads and the trees bend and the grass grows. It all reflects a God bigger and better and more powerful and more beautiful than we could even begin to comprehend. We will be blessed to spend eternity getting to know Him... and even that won't be enough!
